Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were received on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 after public advertisement for Preventative Maintenance, Service and Repair of Oil and Gas Boiler/Burner, bids were issued to thirteen (13) vendors with four (4) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contracts at the May 22, 2018 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period of March 22, 2018 through March 21, 2020 with an option to extend the term of the contracts for two (2) successive one (1) year periods; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the first one (1) year renewal option at the March 26, 2020 Board Meeting and amended the award at the June 23, 2020 Board Meeting as the award value was inadvertently excluded from the original resolution for a contract term of March 26, 2020 through March 25, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the final one (1) year renewal option at the February 25, 2021 Board Meeting for a contract term of March 26, 2021 through March 25, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to amend the current contract for inclusion of additional funding sources, increasing the contract award value to $500,000.00, and extending the contract term through September 25, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contract was reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Vincent Hutcheson, Director of Project Control.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the amendment of term contract for Preventative Maintenance, Service and Repair of Oil and Gas Boiler/Burner for inclusion of additional funding sources, increasing the contract award value from $250,000.00 to $500,000.00, and extending the contract term for a period of March 26, 2021 through September 25, 2022, as follows:
A. Magic Touch Construction Co., Inc., Keyport, NJ
B. Professional Climate Control, East Hanover, NJ
C. Unitemp, Inc., Somerset, NJ
EXPLANATION: To provide oil and gas boiler burner preventative maintenance, service, and repairs at Newark Board of Education locations. Subject to the availability of funds.
