Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J..S.A 18A:18A-4.5 the Newark Board of Education received proposals on Thursday, June 7, 2018 after public advertisement for Disposal of Hazardous Waste Material District Wide, proposals were issued to nineteen (19) vendors with one (1) vendor responding; and
WHEREAS, The Newark Board of Education approved the original contract at the August 28, 2018 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period from date of award and contained an option provision to renew for two (2) consecutive one (1) year periods. The term of the contract was for a period not to exceed four (4) years; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the first renewal option at August 27, 2020 Board Meeting for a one (1) year period of August 27, 2020 through August 26, 2021 with an option to renew for one (1) additional one (1) year period; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its second and final renewal option for a one (1) year period commencing with date of award; and
WHEREAS, the vendor has agreed to renew for second and final one (1) year renewal period under the same terms and conditions of the original contract with no increase in price; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract was reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Carlos Edmundo, Director of Field Operations.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the renewal of term contract for Disposal of Hazardous Waste Materials District Wide for the second and final one (1) year period commencing with date of award to the following vendor:
Cycle Chem Inc., Elizabeth, NJ at an amount not to exceed $250,000.00
EXPLANATION: To dispose of hazardous waste materials district wide.
