Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received on Friday, July 30, 2021 after public advertisement for High School Linear Algebra and Discrete Math Instructional Materials Request For Proposal, request for proposals were issued to twenty-two (22) vendors with one (1) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education and the committee selected the finalist identified below as the best qualified vendor for Linear Algebra instructional materials based on their response to the District’s request for proposal; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5a(5), the District is authorized to award a contract without public advertisement for educational goods and services; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period of August 1, 2021 through July 31, 2023 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Darleen Gearhart, Director of Mathematics.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Linear Algebra instructional materials for a two (2) year period of August 1, 2021 through July 31, 2023 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows:
Savvas Learning Company LLC, Paramus, NJ at an annual cost not to exceed $500,000.00
EXPLANATION: The District desires to provide Linear Algebra instructional materials and professional development services. Subject to availability of funds.
