Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Friday, July 30, 2021 after public advertisement for English Learner Computer Adaptive Literacy Program Request For Proposal, request for proposals were issued to seven (7) vendors with four (4) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the proposal submitted by Savvas Learning Company LLC is rejected and deemed unresponsive as they failed to submit a signed proposal; and
WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education and the committee selected the finalist identified below as the best qualified vendor based on their response to the District’s request for proposal; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period commencing with date of award with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Marisol Diaz, Director of Bilingual.

Recommendation to the Board:
|
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for English Learner Computer Adaptive Literacy Program for a two (2) year period commencing with date of award with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows:
Lexia Learning Systems LLC, Concord, MA at a cost not to exceed $1,000,000.00
EXPLANATION: The District desires to provide English Learner Computer Adaptive Literacy software and professional development services. Subject to availability of funds.
