Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Thursday, February 3, 2022, after public advertisement for Boiler Settings, Relining, and Repair Service. Requests for bids were issued to twenty-three (23) vendors with one (1) vendor responding; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the original contract during the February 24, 2022 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period of February 24, 2022 through February 23, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the total cost to the Newark Board of Education is determined by the labor rates and the percentage markup on replacement parts, materials, and supplies; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole two (2) year renewal option for a term of March 1, 2024 through February 28, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the vendor has agreed to renew under the same terms and conditions of the original contract with no increase in price; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Vincent Hutcheson, Director of Project Control and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contract for Boiler Settings, Relining, and Repair Services for a two (2) year period of March 1, 2024 through February 28, 2026 as follows:
McNeil Sales & Service Inc., Robbinsville, NJ at a cost not to exceed $300,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide boiler settings, relining, and repair services throughout the District as needed.
