Summary: WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Thursday, February 3, 2022, after public advertisement for Desktop Barriers, bids were issued to one hundred thirty-three (133) vendors with eleven (11) vendors responding, see award analysis; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the board of education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-2(y), the pricing submitted by Northeast Janitorial Supply, Inc. is rejected and deemed unresponsive as this vendor failed to submit a signed bid; and

WHEREAS, the term of the contract shall be for a two (2) year period commencing with date of award; and

WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Director of Field Operations and Lisa Abdul, Supervising Accountant.

Recommendation to the Board: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the award of term contract for Desktop Barriers for a two (2) year period of February 24, 2022 through February 23, 2024 as follows:

Concept Printing Inc., Nyack, NY at a cost not to exceed $300,000.00
