Summary:
|
WHEREAS. N.J.S.A. 18A:39-1 et seq., require School Districts to provide student transportation; and WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 39-20.1 permits school districts to enter into contracts with parents to provide their students who attend Out of District school’s transportation from home to school. WHEREAS, Newark Board of Education Schools is providing reimbursement to parents who transport students $25 per day up to 20 miles; $40 per day for over 30 miles. WHEREAS, the Parental Contract amounts will not exceed $15,000 a year per household and $150,000 for the year. WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of contract has been reviewed and approved by Mrs. Quanika Dukes-Spruill, Executive Director, Office of Pupil Transportation.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the District to enter into parental contracts to reimburse parents whose child attend an Out of District school for transportation from home to school.
