WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 after public advertisement for Instructional Materials and Professional Development for Curriculum and Learning Environments. Request for proposals were issued to one hundred and two (102) vendors with fifty-eight (58) vendors responding; and WHEREAS, the proposals submitted by Attainment Company, Inc., Attuned Education Partners, Buobooks.com, LLC, Goodheart-Willcox Publisher, Nick Corley, Okapi Educational Publishing, Inc., and STEM4Real were rejected as these vendors failed to submit responsive proposals; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires a pool of pre-qualified instructional material and professional development providers who can support educators in the (A) effective delivery of standards-based curricula resources and professional development, or (B) the establishment of a highly-effective learning environment; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contract during the May 25, 2023 Board Meeting for a two (2) year contract term of June 1, 2023 through May 31, 2025 with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole renewal option; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contracts was reviewed and approved by Sylvia Esteves, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contracts for Instructional Materials and Professional Development for Curriculum and Learning Environments for a two (2) year contract term of June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2027 as follows: A. 321 Insight, Portland, OR at an amount not to exceed $200,000.00 B. 4D Math Alliance, Holmdel, NJ at an amount not to exceed $100,000.00 C. American Reading Company, INC, Blue Bell, PA at an amount not to exceed $200,000.00 D. Amplify Education, Inc. Brooklyn, NY at an amount not to exceed $400,000.00 E. Better Lesson, Inc. Westwood, MA at an amount not to exceed $200,000.00 F. Bootstrap LLC/Bootstrap World, LLC Alexandria, VA at an amount not to exceed $50,000.00 J.
