Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were electronically received on Friday, May 31, 2024, after public advertisement for Student Transportation Services To and From School. Request for bids were issued to one hundred and seven (107) vendors with sixty-three (63) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the vendors Aldin Transportation, K&H Transport, Road Scholar, RY Transportation, AKA School Transport, Faith 13, and Mass Transportation are rejected and deemed nonresponsive as these vendors failed to submit a required bid, bid documents or provide pricing; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:39-1, the District is required to provide transportation to and from school to elementary school pupils who live more than two miles from their public school of attendance or secondary school pupils who live more than two and a half miles from their public school of attendance; and
WHEREAS, twenty-six (26) vendors are recommended for award of one-hundred seventy-five (175) routes, see attached award analysis and award summary; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period commencing September 1, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the contract award shall permit an additional ten percent allowance per route for necessary route modifications; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Quanika Dukes-Spruill, Executive Director of Pupil Transportation.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Student Transportation Services To and From School for a two (2) year period commencing September 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026 as follows:
A. Abeer Transport LLC, Union NJ, awarded 13 routes totaling $500,864.00 for the 24-25 school year
B. Adiona LLC, Scotch Plains NJ, awarded 48 routes totaling $2,338,090.00 for the 24-25 school year
C. Amigos Transport LLC, Paramus NJ, awarded 1 route totaling $36,400.00 for the 24-25 school year
D. Azza Care Invalid Coach Inc, Orange NJ, awarded 2 routes totaling $231,140.00 for the 24-25 school year
