Summary:
|
WHEREAS, proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 after public advertisement for 9432 Curriculum Professional Development. Request for proposals were issued to sixty-five (65) vendors with twenty-eight (28) vendors responding; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to develop a pool of qualified service providers who are capable of providing evidence-based professional development services at the school and/or District level that will result in increased academic performance for Newark students; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved Part I of the contract award during the November 23, 2021 Board Meeting, and Part II of the contract during the January 27, 2022 Board Meeting for a two (2) year term of November 23, 2021 through November 22, 2023 with an option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved an amendment of contract during the January 26, 2023 Board Meeting for the vendor Teaching Matters’ for inclusion of a series of webinars and trainings based on literacy cycles, along with a personal coach serving as a mentor to provide job-embedded coaching support; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole renewal option for a term of October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2025; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Mary Ann Reilly, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contracts for Curriculum Professional Development services for a two (2) year period of October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2025 as follows: A. 4D Math Alliance Inc., Holmdel, NJ at a cost not to exceed $700,000.00 B. Center for Applied Linguistics, Washington, DC at a cost not to exceed $700,000.00 C. Discovery Education Inc, Charlotte, NC at a cost not to exceed $1,400,000.00 D. EDforTech Corp., Eugene, OR at a cost not to exceed $700,000.00 E. Follett School Solutions LLC, McHenry, IL at a cost not to exceed $1,400,000.00 G. Educational Testing Service/ Institute for Student Achievement, Princeton, NJ at a cost not to exceed $700,000.00 I. National Training Network Inc., Greensboro, NC at a cost not to exceed $700,000.00 J. New Jersey Preforming Arts Center (NJPAC), Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $700,000.00 L.
