Priority 2.1 2.1 Develop and implement a pre-K through grade 12 inclusive curricula and assessments that elevate historically marginalized voices, strengthen and sustain a focus on the instructional core, and provide opportunities to learn about perspectives beyond one’s own scope. Priority 2.3 2.3 Develop a cognitive-learning approach to pedagogy and instruction that deepens understanding of the science of learning and centralizes knowledge building as core to improving the academic achievement of all students, including English language learners, students with special needs, and struggling learners.

Summary:
|
Whereas, ArtSmart has agreed to provide students access to voice lessons, increase engagement in the arts through bi- yearly concerts that showcase student work and gather data on student performances and the efficacy of the program at Abington Elementary, Barringer HS, Global Studies, East Side HS, Hawkins Elementary and University HS for 2023-24 school year. Whereas, ArtSmart promises to develop an appropriate curriculum for all the program in conjunction with the school appointed site coordinator facilitate all scheduling of the lessons.

Now therefore, be it resolved that the Newark Board of Education approve this Memorandum of Understanding between ArtSmart and the Newark Board of Education.
