Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were electronically received on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, after public advertisement for Student Transportation Services To and From School. Request for bids were issued to one hundred and twelve (112) vendors with forty-seven (47) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the vendors Digital Transportation, Glory 2 God Transportation, RY Transportation, Amigos Transportation, Blessing Transportation, Road Runner, and Sis Transport are rejected and deemed nonresponsive as these vendors failed to submit a required bid, bid documents or provide pricing; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:39-1, the District is required to provide transportation to and from school to elementary school pupils who live more than two miles from their public school of attendance or secondary school pupils who live more than two and a half miles from their public school of attendance; and
WHEREAS, eight (8) vendors are recommended for award of 18 routes (18) routes, see attached award analysis and award summary; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period commencing September 1, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the contract award shall permit an additional ten percent allowance per route for necessary route modifications; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Quanika Dukes-Spruill, Executive Director of Pupil Transportation.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Student Transportation Services To and From School for a two (2) year period commencing September 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026 as follows:
A. Destiny 23 Transportation, Parsippany NJ, awarded 3 routes totaling $104,802.00 per year
B. Ez Transit Transport Inc, Union NJ, awarded 6 routes totaling $165,334.00 per year
C. Fyfa LLC, West Caldwell NJ, awarded 1 route totaling $38,038.00 per year
D. Path Management doing business as Inline Transportation, West Orange NJ, awarded 1 route totaling $29,591.00 per year
E. Madison Invalid Coach, West Orange awarded 4 routes totaling $178,340.00 per year
F. Nuheights Transportation, Springfield NJ, awarded 1 route totaling $31,850.00 per year
G. Sarah Transportation LLC, Totowa NJ, awarded 1 route totaling $36,036.00 per year
H. Saved by Grace Transit LLC, Irvington NJ, awarded 1 route totaling $29,045.00 per year
18 routes awarded for a grand total contract award not to exceed $674,339.38 per year including the ten percent route modification allowance.
