Priority 5.3 5.3 Implement prevention and early intervention strategies that include a full continuum of services to address the basic needs of all students in classrooms and schools in order to decrease the need for higher-level services. Priority 5.4 5.4 Strengthen and amplify specialized assistance, crisis, and emergency support, including procedures and services necessary for crisis and emergency situations and specialized assistance programs for students and families with intensive special needs.

Summary:

Whereas the researcher would like the following data:
-Anonymous data from the Newark 2023 Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS)
Whereas the researcher plans to conduct multiple analyses of the data, including to support work funded by the New Jersey Department of Education focused on student homelessness by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention focused on adverse and positive children experiences.
Whereas the researcher plans to conduct quantitative analyses that are correlational between effects of adversity and resource exposure and different outcomes. All analyses will use the complex sampling design of the YRBS to produce findings representative of all students in Newark high schools.
