Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were originally received on Thursday, January 17, 2019 after public advertisement for T-shirt and Golf Style Apparel Set Aside for Minority and Woman Owned Businesses, request for bids were issued to twenty-one (21) vendors with four (4) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the rejection of all bids at the February 26, 2019 Board Meeting in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-22(d) as the District desired to substantially revise the specifications for the goods and services and rebid the solicitation; and
WHEREAS, bids were re-advertised and received on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 after public advertisement for T-shirt and Golf Style Apparel Set Aside for Minority and Woman Owned Businesses, request for bids were issued to sixteen (16) vendors with three (3) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the bid was set-aside for 100% minority and women owned businesses for a contract term of two years from date of award; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contract at the May 28, 2019 Board meeting in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the first amendment during the May 27, 2021 Board meeting for inclusion of additional funding sources and to extend the contract through October 28, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the contractors agreed to extend under the same terms and conditions of the original contract with no increase in price; and
WHEERAS, the Newark Board of Education desires a second amendment increasing the award value; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment was reviewed and approved Sherelle Spriggs, Director of Support Services.

Recommendation to the Board:
|
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the second amendment of term contracts for T-Shirt and Golf Style Apparel for inclusion of additional funding sources, extending the contract term for a period of May 28, 2019 through October 28, 2021 as follows:
A. Progressive, Englewood, NJ at a cost not to exceed from $65,000.00
B. Dot Design, Monroe Township, NJ at a cost not to exceed from $65,000.00
C. Cover Stitches, West New York, NJ at a cost not to exceed from $65,000.00 to $75,000 annually
EXPLANATION: To provide the District with T-Shirts and Golf Style Apparel. Subject to availability of funds.
