Summary: This study is sponsored by the US Dept. Of Education. It’s agent, Mathematica, is interested in conducting a rigorous study to examine the impact of teacher residency programs on teacher retention and student outcomes, which will provide valuable information for educators, policymakers, and school districts about teacher residency programs. To do this, Mathematica would like to survey teachers who have participated in a teacher residency program about their experiences. Whereas, additionally, the researchers would like to request student demographic data to describe the characteristics of students in the study sample and use the student state assessment data to examine whether graduates from teacher residency programs are more effective at improving students’ achievement in math and English language arts than other teachers.
