Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to enter into a contract with Montclair State University for the Newark Montclair Leadership Pipeline; and
WHEREAS, participants will earn credits for their Principal Certification, Supervisor Certification, or Masters in Educational Leadership; and through rigorous academic work and authentic school based experiences, these courses will develop outstanding new leaders with skills, knowledge, and the disposition to serve the specific needs of the Newark Board of Education; and
WHEREAS, the District is authorized to enter into an agreement without advertisement with the United States of America, the State of New Jersey, county, or municipality or any board, body, officer, agency authority or board of education or any other state or subdivision thereof in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5b; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Montclair Leadership Pipeline Program totals $22,860.00 per participant. The Newark Board of Education will fund $5,000.00 per participant; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period of September 30, 2021 through August 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Matthew Brewster, Director of Staff Development.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for the Newark Montclair Leadership Pipeline Program for a two (2) year period commencing September 30, 2021 through August 31, 2023 as follows:
Montclair State University, Montclair, NJ at an amount not to exceed $250,000.00
EXPLANATION: To commence the Newark Montclair Leadership Pipeline Program to aid in the development of outstanding new leaders with skills, knowledge, and dispositions to serve the specific needs of the Newark Board of Education. Subject to the availability of funding.
