Summary: WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Thursday, February 3, 2022 after public advertisement for Health Supplies and Equipment, request for bids were issued to eleven (11) vendors with three (3) vendors responding, see award analysis; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the board of education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and

WHEREAS, the contract term is for a two (2) year period of February 7, 2022 through February 6, 2024 with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and

WHEREAS, the solicitation for Health Supplies and Equipment included a pricing component for a percentage discount based on the manufacturer’s suggested sale retail price for various health supplies and equipment, and this award of contract will include those discounts; and

WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts were reviewed and approved by Dr. Marguerite Leuze, Executive Director of Health Services.

Recommendation to the Board: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Health Supplies and Equipment for a two (2) year period commencing February 7, 2022 through February 6, 2024 with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period as follows:

A. Performance Health Holdings Inc. dba Performance Health Supply, LLC, Medco Supply, Masune & Surgical Supply Services, Amherst, NY 15 items at a cost not to exceed $183,359.20
B. School Health Supply Corporation., Rolling Meadows, IL 28 items at a cost not to exceed $1,546,931.40
C. School Nurse Supply Inc., Schaumburg, IL 4 items at a cost not to exceed $162,800.00
Grand total not to exceed $1,893,090.60
