Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the state of New Jersey passed legislation requiring public school districts to provide nursing services to non-public schools that are located within their district; and WHEREAS, there are nine (9) non-public schools within the Newark School District whose students are eligible for nursing services; and WHEREAS, the State has appropriated a specific dollar amount per student for the Newark school district to provide nursing services for non-public students during the 2024-2025 school year; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education is authorized to enter into an agreement without advertisement with the United States of America, the State of New Jersey, county or municipality or any board, body, officer, agency authority or board of education or any other state or subdivision thereof in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5b; and WHEREAS, the contract term is July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Dr. Marguerite Leuze, Executive Director of Health Services.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Nursing Services for Non-Public Schools from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 as required by P.L. 1991 c226 as follows: Essex Regional Educational Services Commission, Fairfield, NJ at a cost not to exceed $200,000.00 EXPLANATION: To provide nursing services to non-public school students within the Newark School District.
