Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 after public advertisement for T-Shirt and Golf Style Apparel and Personalized Goods Set-Aside for Small, Minority, and Women Owned Businesses, request for bids were issued to twenty-six (26) vendors with four (4) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of The Board of Education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and
WHEREAS, this solicitation was one hundred percent (100%) set-aside for small, minority, and women owned businesses; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-2(y), the bid submitted by Reek Creations is rejected and deemed non-responsive as this vendor failed to submit the required small business enterprise, minority business
enterprise, or women business enterprise certificate; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period from date of award with the option to renew for one (1) additional one (1) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts was reviewed and approved by Sherelle Spriggs, Director of Support Services.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contracts for T-Shirt and Golf Style Apparel and Personalized Goods Set-Aside for Small, Minority, and Women Owned Businesses for a two (2) year period of December 21, 2021 through December 20, 2023 with the option to renew for one (1) additional one (1) year period as follows:
A. Dot Designing, Monroe Township, NJ at a cost not to exceed $400,000.00
B. Cover Stitches, West New York, NJ at a cost not to exceed $150,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide the District with T-Shirts, Golf Style Apparel and Personalized Goods. Subject to availability of funds.
