Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education has committed itself to addressing academic excellence in its schools and the development of the highest potential in each student; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires high quality classroom globes and maps for kindergarten through grade twelve instructional use to enhance social studies education by equipping classrooms with durable and accurate globes and maps that support New Jersey Student Learning Standards; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5(a)5 the District is authorized to award a contract without public advertisement for educational goods and services; and
WHEREAS, the contract term shall be June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Sylvia Esteves, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education approves the award of contract for Classroom Maps and Globes from June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2026 as follows:
Social Studies School Service doing business as Nystrom Education; Good Year Books; The Center for Learning; MindSparks; The Writing Company, Clover City, CA at a cost not to exceed $242,775.82
EXPLANATION: To meet the educational requirements of New Jersey and the District’s Education Plan.
