Summary:
|
Whereas, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) announced the New Jersey Teacher Climate and Culture Innovation Grant targeted towards “reclaiming teacher time” through the investigation and implementation of policies and procedures which reduce administrative paperwork and other tasks that pull teachers away from classroom instruction; and Whereas, the overarching goal of this grant is to increase the teacher retention rate through the implementation of evidence-based coaching strategies proven to enhance job satisfaction and retention rates; and Whereas, the Newark Board of Education was awarded grant funding in the amount of $200,000 for a one-year project period; and Whereas, the grant implementation will be managed by the Office of Staff Development.
