Summary: Whereas the Newark Public Schools has partnered with Communities in Schools starting in the 2023-2024 school year as a member of the CIS Learning Cohort of districts across the United States. This partnership aims to support students and encourage regular student attendance.

Whereas CIS has partnered with AIR to conduct an evaluation of the model that the CIS Learning cohort districts are implementing. This evaluation was previously approved by the Newark Board of Education and is being resubmitted to account for minor changes made to the data collection instruments.
Funding : At no cost to the district.
Recommendation to the Board: Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Newark Board of Education approve this Research and Data Sharing Agreement between the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and the Newark Board of Education.
