Summary: WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 after public advertisement for Student Enrichment Services, Expanded Learning Services and Teacher Professional Development. Request proposals were issued to thirty (30) vendors with eleven (11) vendors responding; and WHEREAS, the District desires to develop a pool of qualified service providers to deliver high quality in school, out of school, and summer enrichment programs; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the original award of contract during the May 26, 2022 Board Meeting for a three (3) year period of June 1, 2022 through May 31, 2025 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise its sole two (2) year renewal option; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Julianne Bello, Director of Extended Learning Time and Sylvia Esteves, Assistant Superintendent.

Recommendation to the Board: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the renewal of term contracts for Student Enrichment Services, Expanded Learning Services and Teacher Professional Development for a two (2) year period of June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2027 as follows: B. Multiple Talents Ent. (MTE) dba Malcolm Snowden, East Orange, NJ at a cost not to exceed $250,000.00 C. Schools That Can, Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $150,000.00 D. YMCA of Newark and Vicinity, Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $300,000.00 E. Young Audiences of New Jersey, Inc., Princeton, NJ at a cost not to exceed $100,000.00 EXPLANATION: To develop a pool of qualified student enrichment service providers.
