Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Council of Great City Schools brings together seventy-eight of the nation’s largest urban public-school systems in a coalition dedicated to the improvement of education for children in the inner cities. The Council and its member school districts work to help schoolchildren meet the highest standards and become successful and productive members of society; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education has maintained a membership with the Council of Great City Schools for over ten years; and
WHEREAS, due to incremental annual increases this expenditure now exceeds the bid threshold; and
WHEREAS, the District is authorized to enter into an agreement for extraordinary unspecifiable services in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5a (2); and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term membership contract was reviewed and approved by Valerie Wilson, School Business Administrator. |

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the membership payment for the Council of Great City Schools for a term of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2023 as follows:
