WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 after public advertisement for 9456 Extended Learning Day Enrichment Services Request For Proposal, request for proposals were issued to fourteen (14) vendors with eight (8) vendors responding; and WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the proposal submitted by YMCA of Newark and Vicinity is rejected and deemed unresponsive as this vendor failed to submit a signed proposal; and WHEREAS, the District desires to develop a pool of qualified service providers to deliver high quality in school, out of school, and summer enrichment programs and services for students of the Newark Board of Education; and WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education and the committee selected the finalist identified below as the best qualified vendors based on their response to the District’s request for proposal; and WHEREAS, the contract is for a three (3) year period of March 1, 2022 through March 1, 2025 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Julianne Bello, Director of Extended Learning Time.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Extended Learning Day Enrichment Services for a three (3) year period of March 1, 2022 through March 1, 2025 at an amount not to exceed seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000.00) annually per vendor with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows: A. Caring for Children Corporation dba Brick City Bricks 4 Kidz, Newark, NJ B. Food Service Group Inc. dba NY Enrichment Group, White Plains, NY C. Ophelia J. Berry Found, Inc. dba Pathways To College, Wellesley, MA D. Strivven Media LLC, Asheville, NC E. TPR Education LLC dba The Princeton Review, New York, NY EXPLANATION: To develop a pool of qualified student enrichment service providers. Subject to availability of funds.
